contact55849

This is the last edition of our education series featuring full body light therapy. Today we will talk about what to expect before, during, and after your full body light therapy session. We will also review our a la carte and membership pricing.

What to expect before, during, and after a full body light therapy session?

A full-body light therapy session involves the use of light-emitting devices that cover the entire body with red and near-infrared (NIR) light. These sessions can vary depending on the type of equipment used (such as panels, beds, or booths) and the specific protocols of the facility offering the therapy.

Here’s a general overview of what a typical full-body light therapy session might be like:

Before the Session

  • Consultation: There will be a consultation before your first session to discuss your health goals, any medical conditions you have, and how light therapy might benefit you. This is a good time to ask any questions you have about the therapy.

  • Preparation: You’ll be instructed to remove clothing from the parts of your body you want treated. For full-body sessions, you may be asked to wear minimal to no clothing.

During the Session

  • Entering the Therapy Area: You'll enter the area where the full-body light therapy device is located. This might be a room with panels, a bed similar to a tanning bed but equipped with light therapy lamps, or a stand-up booth. At West Omaha Cryotherapy you will stand on a gel pad with panels in front of and behind you.

  • Exposure to Light: Once you're ready, the device will be turned on, and you'll be exposed to red and NIR light. The light itself is not hot, and while you may feel a gentle warmth, it should not cause discomfort or heat-related stress.

  • Duration: A typical session lasts between 10 to 20 minutes. The duration can depend on the specific device's power, the distance between the light source and your body, and the health objectives being targeted.

  • Relaxation: During the session, you can relax, meditate, or listen to music. The experience is generally comfortable and non-invasive, with many people finding it to be a peaceful break in their day.

After the Session

  • Immediate Aftercare: There’s usually no downtime after a session, and you can return to your daily activities immediately. Some people report feeling more energized or noticing a mild increase in skin warmth right after the session.

  • Hydration: It’s often recommended to drink water after the session to help support the body’s natural processes that the light therapy stimulates.

  • Skin Care: If you have sensitive skin, applying a moisturizer can be beneficial, although many people report that their skin feels softer and healthier without any additional care.

Frequency and Results

  • Frequency of Sessions: The recommended frequency can vary, with some protocols suggesting 2-3 times per week for optimal results. The specific regimen will depend on your goals and the advice of the therapy provider.

  • Observing Benefits: While some effects, like enhanced mood or immediate relaxation, can be noticed shortly after the session, other benefits such as improved skin health, reduced inflammation, or muscle recovery may require consistent sessions over several weeks to become apparent.

Each full-body light therapy session is designed to be a simple, relaxing experience. The non-invasive nature of the therapy makes it a popular choice for those looking for alternative or complementary treatments to support overall well-being, recovery, and health maintenance.

This concludes our education series on full body light therapy. We hope you have enjoyed it while boosting your knowledge!

Now that you are fully educated, are you ready to give full body light therapy a try but curious about the cost? We do our best to cater to our client’s individual needs and so we offer both memberships and a la carte bundle options.

Memberships offer a bit more bang for your buck, so to speak. You get sessions at a discounted per session rate when compared to a la carte bundles. Memberships auto-renew monthly and because you get a deeper discount with a membership, any unused sessions do not carry over. There are no contracts or commitments; you can cancel or pause at any time or switch to a different tier all with no penalties. Sessions in a membership are not shareable with another person, however, we do offer a 15% discount when you bundle memberships with someone else.

A la carte sessions may be purchased in bundles of 1, 5, 10, or 20 sessions; the higher the quantity of sessions in the bundle = more savings for you. A la carte sessions never expire and are shareable with others.
