CRYOTHERAPY FOR ENERGY & MOOD
Each whole-body cryotherapy session is accompanied by a norepinepherine boost of up to five times normal levels, as well as a 250% dopamine boost.  This boost proves to have profound effects on mood.

Norepinephrine is a hormone and neurotransmitter directly correlated with vigilance, attention, focus, and mood.  Exogenous norepinephrine is sometimes used to treat ADHD, and depression.  Decreased norepinephrine neurotransmission is associated with inattention, decreased focus and cognitive ability, low energy, and poor mood.

Additionally, whole-body cryotherapy has been shown to induce a reduction of depression symptoms by enhancing well being, sleep, and relaxation.

Norepinephrine also has the ability to impact pain, metabolism, and inflammation.  This is important to consider in the context of mood, because inflammation has been shown to inhibit serotonin release.  The decrease of inflammation by a boost in norepinephrine, as well as the other anti-inflammatory responses of whole-body cryotherapy, can have a measurable effect on mood through freeing up serotonin release.
